SMB performance settings

You can view and configure the change notify and oplocks performance settings of an SMB share.

Changes that are made directly to an SMB share override the default settings configured from the Default SMB Share Settings tab.

Change Notify
Configures notification of clients when files or directories change. This helps prevent clients from seeing stale content, but requires server resources. The default value is Norecurse.
Oplocks
Indicates whether an opportunistic lock (oplock) request is allowed. An oplock allows clients to provide performance improvements by using locally-cached information. The default value is Yes.
